JOURNAL

Went with Loretta McGreevey
to her family farm
near Paola Kansas.

The farm was originally
a land grant to her great,
great,
grandfather.

It was given in payment
for his services
during the Civil War.

Her mother
rode around the county
with us.

She was a goldmine
of historical information.

We went
to the original
John Brown's cabin
of pro slavery fame.

The docent of the day
was Mary Buster.

Mary is the Great,
Great, Granddaughter
of Fiorella Brown.

She enthusiastically
shows and explains
the remaining
family posessions.

It was obvious
that her family history
left her
an exciting legacy
and purpose in life.

Her regular job
is a teacher
of the gifted
in Emporia,
Kansas.
